4 beauty salons in Barcelona for budget-friendly pampering

pink peony beauty salons

There are plenty of beauty salons in Barcelona offering various forms of epilation, manicures, pedicures and a whole host of other treatments. Obviously, we haven’t been able to visit all of them, but we’ve tried a few: here are our four favourites.

4 top tips!

  • Look out for bargains! Keep an eye on Groupon and Letsbonus, two sites for beauty and well-being offers in Barcelona and across Cataluyna, with up to 80% off standard prices in the listed salons. The sites are only available in Spanish, but with offers like that, it’s worth making the extra effort!

Cerinova: quick and efficient waxing

Cerinova is the place to go for fast and efficient waxing at competitive prices! Don’t go in expecting sophisticated décor and elegance: the watchwords here are “efficient” and “practical”. There’s no need to book ahead, as there’ll always be someone ready and waiting! This is very practical if you don’t speak Spanish, removing the need to ring up and make an appointment.

You’ll need to stand on a table for the epilation itself: unusual, but much faster. Your skin is stretched tighter when you’re stood up, too, so it hurts less when they take the waxed bands off. Bonus!

If you take a loyalty card, you’ll get 20% off your first two visits. Even without the card, the prices are very attractive: from around €15 – €20 for a full-leg wax.

Why? For a cheap and practical solution
How much? Full leg wax for under €20
When? Monday to Friday, 9am – 7.30pm; Saturday, 9am – 2pm.
Where? Rambla Catalunya 14, Eixample (metro: Passeig de Gràcia)

Sundara: the threading experts

If you haven’t heard of threading yet, it’s an ancient oriental technique, which consists of using a twisted cotton thread to pull hairs out from the root. It’s designed for facial epilation, including eyebrows and the upper lip, for example. The results are more precise and better-defined than you’ll get with wax, and there’s no risk of staining or skin damage which can happen with facial waxing.

  • Sundara also offers waxing (for the body), face and body treatments, eco-friendly makeup and green manicures and pedicures.

Why?

Beauty Nails: everything for hands and feet

As the name suggests, Beauty Nails is devoted to, well, nails! It offers a range of manicures and pedicures, from express treatments to semi-permanent and gel procedures. The friendly, professional team will take great care of you in a very feminine, relaxed atmosphere.

Why? For immaculate nails on a budget
How much? Around €12 for an “express” manicure and €30 for shellac (semi-permanent varnish)
When? Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 2pm; Saturday, 9.30am – 8pm
Where? Aribau 272, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi (ferrocarril Gràcia or Muntaner)

The Pink Peony: a chic salon with a touch of New York style

The Pink Peony is the most expensive salon on our list, although the prices are far from excessive. It’s also the prettiest of the four establishments! Located on the prestigious Passeig de Gràcia, it offers threading and waxing, normal or semi-permanent manicures and pedicures, and facial treatments.

  • Bonus: here, there’s an option to book out the whole salon (the one shown in the photo at the top of the page) for a “beauty party”. This includes pedicures, manicures, massages and an aperitif (with cava), on the condition that there are 6 or more of you. Sounds good!
