If you love a quirky atmosphere you will not be disappointed by the very unusual decor at Peggy Sue’s: a diner where you almost expect to see a pin-up dancing rock’n roll with a gel-haired hunk!

Peggy Sue’s atmosphere

The decoration

The unusual atmosphere at Peggy Sue’s is its main attraction, and it’s the reason why we don’t advise you to get your food to take away. Atmosphere is really what this place is all about.

The decoration here is really well done and it’s bursting with details that make a huge difference, like the comfortable blue and turquoise benches around Formica tables that almost transport you to a classic American diner.

The walls are full of retro style posters in baby pink and mint green. An old switched-off television is mounted up high like a trophy, and eye-catching little transparent pots of chewing gum balls on the bar remind you of childhood.

Music

Each table has its own jukebox which, although just for decoration, is great fun to play with, particularly for children.

Even if the jukeboxes don’t work, music is still an integral part of the atmosphere at Peggy Sue’s, where American  hits from the 1950s and 1960s are constantly played in the background.

Peggy Sue’s Menu

Let’s be clear: the savoury menu is not exceptional. However, the desserts do a lot to make up for it.

A diner that children will love

We advise you to come to Peggy Sue’s for an afternoon snack, particularly if you have children. They will love the unusual and colourful decoration, as well as the fun drinks and the tasty cakes.

Peggy Sue’s even offers smaller, less expensive portions for children.

Commitment to quality

Feel free to let them enjoy the treats on offer without worrying about their health: the diner is committed to working exclusively with high quality products, so the ingredients are fresh and the cakes are made the same day and never frozen.

Drinks and cakes

For 2 euros, you can try a pretty baby pink lemonade, which will not fail to impress children.

You can also choose from large milk-shakes (from 4 euros) and a range of traditional American cakes for 4 or 5 euros: brownies, New York cheesecake, carrot cake, crumble and more. Your palate will be doing the twist!

There are a number of Peggy Sue’s restaurants in Barcelona, but we recommend the one on Balmes street.
