Let’s be clear from the beginning: if you’re not looking to share, chat and meet people then Salsas & Co is not for you.
However, if you like a family atmosphere you will be in your element in this welcoming bed & breakfast.
Almost like home
This is an establishment in the grand tradition of Bed & Breakfasts! You feel right at home here and the large breakfast table in the dining room, the shared bathrooms and common lounge are all there for a reason.
The rooms at Salsas & Co
Salsas & Co is divided into two apartments with 4 bedrooms in each one. Each apartment has two bathrooms with hair dryer and toiletries. Towels are also provided.
There are four types of rooms at Salsas & Co: double economy (with a double bed or twin beds), triple economy (a double and a single or three single beds), doubles or superior doubles.
The economy rooms have a view of the courtyard so they’re not very bright. That said, if you’re gallivanting all day that’s not necessarily a big problem, and the prices are quite low.
The others are bigger, brighter and better decorated. We particularly like the Paris-Peking room.
Breakfast at Salsas & Co
We were lucky enough to try the breakfast at Salsas & Co, and we certainly enjoyed it! It is very full, and Fleur, the hostess, attaches a lot of importance to offering fresh, handmade products.
While we were there we were offered a selection of delicious breads, pudding, jams and homemade yoghurts (yes, yes!), tomato bread, organic cereals, eggs and a succulent ensaïmada, that Catalan brioche made from the sweet pumpkin and honey mix known as Angel’s Hair. Yum!
Little extras at Salsas & Co
A warm welcome and tonnes of advice
Fleur, the owner of the Bed & Breakfast will offer you a warm welcome and do all she can to make your life easier during your stay!
Fleur will be happy to answer all your questions and to recommend some good places to visit nearby.
Catalan cooking classes
As another little extra, Fleur also offers Catalan cooking classes. You can go shopping for the best products in the city before getting into the kitchen. At the end you will enjoy a delicious feast, and the service only costs around 40 euros.
Another bonus is if you want to go shopping, the Illa shopping centre is a stone’s throw away. Need to relax? Salsas & Co is located just beside the Rituels d’Orient spa.
