Sol de invierno: a simple and charming women’s fashion boutique

In Roger de Llúria street, known for its elegant art nouveau store fronts, and just a few hundred metres from Gaudí’s Casa Milà Sol de invierno, a pretty boutique selling women’s clothes and accessories opened in 2015.

Initially attracted by its dashing window display, I haven’t been able to resist popping in here on numerous occasions since, so it is about time I shared this discovery.

Sol de invierno’s little story

Having always worked in fashion, the owner of Sol de invierno (Winter sun in English) for a long time nurtured the idea of opening a boutique where she could share with her customers her favourite fashions at reasonable prices.

In 2015, she opened her shop and called it Sol de invierno in memory of her father who called her this when she was little. And she put her whole heart into creating her project. She is very careful to add personal touches to the decor (like the old mirror she stripped herself or the lace curtain in the changing rooms made by her mother) to give her boutique a really warm feeling.

But the success of Sol de invierno also comes from the variety of the items. Every month the owner travels to Italy to dig out new treasures.

Her selection criteria? The clothes and accessories should be easy to wear, comfortable and reasonably priced. So you can treat yourself without overheating your credit card!

And it is really often the case at Sol de invierno, that you can pick something up without breaking the bank, and enjoy the graphic or colourful styles of extremely comfortable, wide leg trousers, brightly coloured bags, fresh coloured blouses and dresses with geometric patterns that you don’t even need to iron!

• The prices are very reasonable; you will find a great number of items are less than 40 euros.

• Little downside: Unfortunately  we haven’t been bowled over by all of the collections, but as they change every 4 to 6 weeks hopefully you will be pleased with what you find.
