Wawas Barcelona is home to a stylishly-organised, chaotic collection of polaroid-style postcards, books about Barcelona, wall decorations, chocolate bars, T-shirts, aprons, mugs, mirrors and recycled bags.
Wawas Barcelona: a brief history
In 2002, Anna and Silvia, sisters and natives of Barcelona, decided to create and launch a quirky collection of postcards with images of their beloved city. Their fun brand name, Wawas Barcelona, has its origins in their own memories of childhood.
The concept behind Wawas Barcelona is to offer a collection of original and beautiful objects created from fragments of everyday life in Barcelona. You’re not going to find the usual tourist-trap souvenirs here.
Barcelona in images
Different aspects of the Catalan capital are highlighted, from the “classic” Barcelona, with its markets, city-centre cafés and beaches, to the “avant-garde” Barcelona with its modern, designer buildings, and the “arty” Barcelona of unique architecture and street art.
Souvenirs of Barcelona
Following the success of their postcards, Wawas Barcelona extended their range to include magnets, “Buenos días Barcelona” mugs, and a lovely collection of chocolate bars, created in association with two renowned local brands, Xocoa and Cacao Sampaka. Perfect for chocolate-loving fans of the city…
Wawas Barcelona: promoting local artists
Last but not least, Wawas Barcelona also carries a wide range of articles created by well-known local artists, including books illustrated by Javier Mariscal, bags made from recycled Demano posters or table sets produced by Cha Chá Barcelona, amongst other things.
If you want to get off the beaten track of tired, tacky tourist souvenirs, then Wawas Barcelona is a great place to find fun and interesting gifts to take home.
