check what&#8217;s open. 1st May and 9th June (Whit Monday) are public holidays in Catalonia, and certain restaurants and museums will be closed.<\/p>\n<p>That said, there&#8217;s no reason to panic or, worse, put off your trip &#8211; It&#8217;s open from 10am &#8211; 2.30pm on 1st May and Whit Monday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"is-style-badlist\">\n<li>The <a title=\"Le mus&eacute;e Picasso de Barcelone, inattendu et impressionnant\" href=\"\/picasso-museum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Picasso Museum<\/a> will be closed on both 1st May and 10th June. The <a title=\"Mus&eacute;e National d&rsquo;Art de Catalogne (MNAC): &eacute;clectique et grandiose\" href=\"\/national-catalonia-art-museum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MNAC<\/a> (National Museum of Catalan Art) closes at 3pm on Whit Monday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If architecture is your thing, you may want to try our <a title=\"Promenade gratuite sur les traces de l&rsquo;Art Nouveau catalan\" href=\"\/free-walking-tour-modernism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">free walk on the theme of Catalan Art Nouveau<\/a> &#8211; as it&#8217;s self-guided, you can go whenever you choose, taking the opportunity to discover some of the most impressive fa&ccedil;ades in the Eixample.\n<\/p>\n<h3>Beaches and parks<\/h3>\n<p>\nMake like the locals and spend the day kicking back at the beach or in one of Barcelona&#8217;s many parks. That being said, you shouldn&#8217;t have too much trouble finding somewhere to eat along the seafront or around major tourist spots.\n<\/p>\n<h4>On the seafront<\/h4>\n<p>\nThere are many, many restaurants along Barcelona&#8217;s extensive coastline. One of our favourites is <a href=\"\/paella-restaurants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Xiringuito Escrib&agrave;<\/a>, home to some of the best paella in the city!\n<\/p>\n<h4>Around Las Ramblas and the Passeig de Gr&agrave;cia<\/h4>\n<p>\nIf you&#8217;re looking for somewhere to eat around Las Ramblas or the Passeig de Gr&agrave;cia, be careful &#8211; there are a lot of rip-offs and tourist traps in the area. With its mediterranean climate and impressive selection of parks, Barcelona is a particularly good spot for al fresco dining. If you&#8217;re in the city on 24th June, make the most of the opportunity to discover some of the biggest Catalan traditions.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;ll be bonfires, fireworks, lots of music, and above all, a party atmosphere!
