Below we&#8217;ve outlined some of the highlights of what is a very unusual festival.<\/p>\n<h2>Festival Grec: origins and concept<\/h2>\n<p>\nThe name of this festival refers to the open-air Greek theatre that takes place on the Montju&iuml;c hill and where most of the festival&#8217;s shows have taken place since it first began.<\/p>\n<p>The Festival Grec has always been avant garde as it was founded in 1976, when Greek theatre had been largely abandoned.<\/p>\n<p>Initially created as a theatre show, its huge success quickly allowed it to open up to dance, magic, circus and music.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Its goal? You can find the timetable on the <a href=\"https:\/\/lameva.barcelona.cat\/grec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Festival Grec<\/a> website.\n<\/p>\n<h2>Prices and buying tickets<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Prices vary from show to show.
