And you certainly should, as your library card entitles you to discounts in a huge number of the city&#8217;s cultural sites.<\/p>\n<h2>Library cards, free membership<\/h2>\n<h3>Heaps of advantages<\/h3>\n<p>\nThe Barcelona library card is completely free. It gives you access to the public libraries in Barcelona and Catalonia to borrow books, consult specialist works, join reading clubs or specific classes, use computers and also enjoy a huge number of reduced prices.\n<\/p>\n<h3>Joining municipal libraries in Barcelona<\/h3>\n<p>\nYou can request a library card online by <a href=\"https:\/\/sinera.diba.cat\/screens*spi\/formulari3_spi.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">clicking here<\/a>. Fill in the form, state which library you want to collect it from the next day, and you&#8217;re done! Super simple, right? Or if you prefer you can go and request a library card from the library of your choice.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"is-style-checklist\">\n<li>The library card is free (issuing a replacement card costs 1 euro).<\/li>\n<li>It does not expire.<\/li>\n<li>All Barcelona residents can request one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"is-style-badlist\">\n<li>The library card is personal and non-transferable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To collect your card you will need one of the following documents:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DNI or NIE<\/li>\n<li>Passport<\/li>\n<li>Driving licence<\/li>\n<li>Residence permit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nTo register a child who is under 14 you will need to present their DNI or NIE as well as an authorisation from their parent or legal guardian. The child will then have access to all library services.<\/p>\n<p>Associations and institutions can also request a collective card in the name of the centre.\n<\/p>\n<h2>Barcelona library card discounts<\/h2>\n<p>\nOn presentation of your Barcelona library card you will be entitled to discounts in more than 120 cultural sites:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Museums<\/strong>: discounts at the <a title=\"Le mus&eacute;e Picasso de Barcelone, inattendu et impressionnant\" href=\"\/picasso-museum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Picasso Museum<\/a>, the <a href=\"\/miro-foundation\/\">Mir&oacute;
