One example of this phenomenon is 100 Montaditos, a popular Spanish chain of bars which started in 2001 in a small village in Andalucia.<\/p>\n<h2>The concept behind 100 Montaditos<\/h2>\n<p>\nThe basic premise of 100 Montaditos is to sell a range of traditional mini-sandwiches and beers, all at low, low prices. A recipe for success, if ever there was one!<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, the chain has over 230 bars in Spain and is increasingly present elsewhere in Europe, in Mexico and in the US.\n<\/p>\n<h2>Budget-friendly menu<\/h2>\n<p>\nThe unique selling point of the chain is its menu, which, as the name of the bars indicates, offers a list of 100 different montaditos.<\/p>\n<p>In Spain, <em>montaditos<\/em> are traditionally&nbsp; slices of bread, three to four inches long, with different toppings.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Here, the montaditos are mini-sandwiches, and there&#8217;s something for everyone!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nThe best part? None of the sandwiches will set you back more than 2&euro;. The price varies <strong>between 1&euro; and 2&euro;<\/strong> depending on the number of ingredients in a specific montaditos.<\/p>\n<p>The menu also includes breakfast items for around 2&euro;, salads for around 3&euro;, dishes &#8220;para picar&#8221; (nachos, fries and little sausages) for less than 2&euro; , and drinks. Beer-lovers will be blown away by the prices: 70 cents for a <em>ca&ntilde;a <\/em>(draught beer) and 1&euro; for a pint! Well, what more could you want?\n<\/p>\n<h2>A new way of ordering<\/h2>\n<p>\nAt 100 Montaditos, customers take an order slip from their table, tick their choices, write their names then pay at the bar. A few minutes later, your name will be called for you to go and collect your order.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hint:<\/strong> From 1.30pm and from 9pm,&nbsp; 100 Montaditos fills up quickly.
