The races take place on the Barcelona-Catalunya course in Montmel&oacute;, and are highly anticipated by biking fans.<\/p>\n<h2>Moto GP: What is it?<\/h2>\n<p>\nThe motorcycle Grand Prix, or Moto GP, is one of the three world championships for motorbikes. The season runs from March to November on different courses around the world. It&#8217;s a huge international event, launched in the 1950s, and attracts all the biggest names in the sport.\n<\/p>\n<h2>The circuit<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/05\/planMotoGP-e1432132006360.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5107 size-full\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/05\/planMotoGP-e1432132006360.jpg\" alt=\"Moto GP map\" width=\"628\" height=\"511\" srcset=\"https:\/\/barcelona-top-travel-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/05\/planMotoGP-e1432132006360.jpg 628w, https:\/\/barcelona-top-travel-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/05\/planMotoGP-e1432132006360-300x244.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 628px) 100vw, 628px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The circuit has fourteen grandstands, three of which are covered. There are around 61,000 numbered seats, with 23 giant screens showing all of the details of the race: overtaking, pitstops, skids etc.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The purple areas on the map are the pelouse, which has unassigned seating.<\/li>\n<li>For the best race day experience, we recommend booking a seat along the northern part of the circuit (B, G, C or H).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5109 size-full\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/05\/MotoGP-2011-Malaysia-Test-3-e1432205957588.jpg\" alt=\"MotoGP 2011 Malaysia\" width=\"628\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/barcelona-top-travel-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/05\/MotoGP-2011-Malaysia-Test-3-e1432205957588.jpg 628w, https:\/\/barcelona-top-travel-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/05\/MotoGP-2011-Malaysia-Test-3-e1432205957588-300x174.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 628px) 100vw, 628px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Getting to the circuit from Barcelona by train, bus or car<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Barcelona-Montmel&oacute; by train<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\nFrom Barcelona, trains to Montmel&oacute; can be caught from three stations:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Barcelona Sants, metro: Sants Estaci&oacute; (L3 and L5)<\/li>\n<li>Passeig de Grac&iacute;a, metro: &nbsp;Passeig de Gr&agrave;cia (L2, L3, L4)<\/li>\n<li>Clot, metro: Clot (L1, L2)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Journey time:<\/span><\/p>\n<p> around 30 minutes from Sants to Montmel&oacute;.<br \/>\nYou&#8217;ll then have a half-hour walk from the station, following the route shown on the map below. During the Moto GP and the Formula 1 Grand Prix, a shuttle bus runs between the station and the circuit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/05\/pieg.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5112 size-full\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/05\/pieg.jpg\" alt=\"walk\" width=\"610\" height=\"406\" srcset=\"https:\/\/barcelona-top-travel-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/05\/pieg.jpg 610w, https:\/\/barcelona-top-travel-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/05\/pieg-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<h3>Barcelona-Moto GP circuit by bus<\/h3>\n<p>\nFor events such as Formula 1 races or the Moto GP, the Sagal&eacute;s coach company runs services from Barcelona city centre.\n<\/p>\n<h3>Barcelona-Moto GP circuit by <strong>car<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\nIt takes around 30 minutes to get from Barcelona to the circuit by car.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s parking for over 32,000 cars on-site, but you need to pay for it.\n<\/p>\n<h2>Hints and tips<\/h2>\n<p>\nMake sure you remember the essentials:\n<\/p>\n<ul class=\"is-style-checklist\">\n<li>Sunglasses and sun cream<\/li>\n<li>A hat<\/li>\n<li>Water<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable shoes<\/li>\n<li>Earplugs or headphones to protect yourself from the noise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are over 80 stands onsite serving snacks, drinks and pizza.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy the race, and may the best driver win!<\/p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This world motorcycle championships (Moto GP) will be held in Barcelona 5th-7th June 2020.
