Feature in your own weird and wonderful scenes&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>Museum of Illusions: the concept<\/h2>\n<p>\nThe Museum of Illusions is a Russian invention, featuring a series of paintings in very realistic 3D. Following its huge success at home, the concept has been exported to Spain: Barcelona is home to the only European branch outside of Russia.<\/p>\n<p>The idea is to have your photo taken in front of one of the scenes, then enjoy the visual effects created in the photo!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4944 size-full\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/09\/galerie-des-illusions.jpg\" alt=\"Museum of Illusions lion head\" width=\"628\" height=\"419\" srcset=\"https:\/\/barcelona-top-travel-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/09\/galerie-des-illusions.jpg 628w, https:\/\/barcelona-top-travel-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/09\/galerie-des-illusions-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 628px) 100vw, 628px\" \/>\n<\/p>\n<h2>The Museum of Illusions, Barcelona<\/h2>\n<p>\nOpened in late 2015, the Barcelona Museum of Illusions is home to 70 fun scenes featuring animals, seascapes, fictional characters, celebrities, escalators, and even zombies.<\/p>\n<p>The museum also pays homage to its host city, featuring a range of iconic Catalan scenes, including <a href=\"https:\/\/barcelona-top-travel-tips.com\/sagrada-familia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sagrada Familia<\/a>, the steps of <a href=\"\/parc-guell-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Parc G&uuml;ell<\/a> and match day at <a href=\"\/fc-barcelona-camp-nou-museum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Camp Nou<\/a>. You can even feature in one of Salvador Dal&iacute;&#8217;s best-known works&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"is-style-badlist\">\n<li>In all honesty, we&#8217;re not 100% convinced it&#8217;s worth it: if you&#8217;re short on time, we recommend seeing Barcelona&#8217;s main attractions in the flesh and taking your photos there instead!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4946 size-full\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/09\/la-galerie-des-illusions-article.jpg\" alt=\"Museum of Illusions article\" width=\"628\" height=\"419\" srcset=\"https:\/\/barcelona-top-travel-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/09\/la-galerie-des-illusions-article.jpg 628w, https:\/\/barcelona-top-travel-tips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/09\/la-galerie-des-illusions-article-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 628px) 100vw, 628px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To create the best illusions, the photographer needs to follow the floor markings, and the subject needs to pose in the position indicated on the wall.\n<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Top tips:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Museum of Illusions gets very busy at the weekend. Better to go early, or on a weekday.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s more suitable for children than for adults.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The Museum of Illusions: is it worth it?<\/h2>\n<p>\nFrankly, we&#8217;re not 100% convinced.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some of the paintings don&#8217;t produce particularly convincing effects, which is a shame.<\/li>\n<li>The idea behind the museum is to take photos, which may feel a bit repetitive. A good alternative is the fun 4D animation on offer at the <a href=\"\/gaudi-experiencia-4d\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gaud&iacute; Experiencia.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>We weren&#8217;t blown away by the attraction &#8211; where possible, we recommend taking your photos in front of the <em>real <\/em>Sagrada Familia or Parc G&uuml;ell!
