The Fianna: Copious tapas and great cocktails to start your evening
Located in the lively Born area, the Fianna is the ideal place to begin your evening or enjoy a quiet midweek drink.
The atmosphere is quiet from Monday to Thursday, but it fills up quickly at the weekend and becomes a very lively venue.
The Fianna’s plush atmosphere
Entering the Fianna is like entering a secret world. Lamps hanging from the ceiling give off a soft orange light that is reflected in the bottles arranged behind the bar. Large mosaic columns complete the bar’s original decor.
The space is divided between high small tables, and larger ones designed for groups and surrounded by benches strewn with cushions.
What gives the Fianna its charm, however, are the two large raised spaces full of cushions.
Take off your shoes and make yourself comfortable, drinks will be brought to you on a tray. However we advise you to arrive early as these small pockets of paradise are crammed at the weekend.
The drinks menu is long and you can choose from a selection of wines (all of them are very good), a long list of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails (the mojitos and margaritas are delicious), as well as beers and non-alcoholic drinks. Anything is possible, even if you fancy a tea or hot chocolate around midnight!
If you find it hard to choose from the drinks menu just wait until you see the tapas! Nachos, grilled chicken skewers, guacamole, olives, hummus, fajitas, patatas bravas… It is a real mixture of flavours that will delight your taste buds. Furthermore, the portions are good and all of the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced.
The Fianna restaurant
The Fianna is mostly known for its bar but the restaurant also has a great reputation. If you found the tapas menu appetising, you will love the food menu. Here all the products are locally sourced and the original combination of flavours is mouthwatering.
The restaurant is separated from the bar by a wall and the two places are completely distinct. To avoid disappointment we advise you to book online
Some useful information
Cocktails start at 7 euros. For a glass of wine expect to pay around 3 euros: reasonable prices, especially considering the quality of the drinks on offer.
- Weeknights and weekends, the Fianna offers cheaper drinks before 10pm. That’s a top tip!
