Hotel Cram: a star restaurant with a sunny terrace
The 4 star Cram hotel is located in the heart of “Gayxample” (a contraction of gay and Eixample, the name of the neighbourhood). It is a gay-friendly establishment and a pioneer hotel as it was one of the first design hotels to open their doors in Barcelona. Today it has been completely renovated and celebrates above all serenity and tranquility.
Angle: the star restaurant
Hotel Cram is home to Angle restaurant, which is open from Tuesday to Saturday and run by Michelin star chef Jordi Cruz.
The dining room is simple; what matters most here is what happens on your plate. Expect to spend around 80 euros for a tasting menu and around 30 euros for a starter, between 30 and 40 euros for a main course and 10 euros for dessert.
To give you an idea, this is the type of dish you can find at Angle: parcels of white asparagus with cod, in a mushroom and lemongrass sauce; mushroom-stuffed cannelloni, with Parmesan and goat’s cheese bechamel, or brioche infused with spices. It’s pretty creative!
The Hotel Cram’s sunny terrace
The other principal draw of the Cram is its terrace. From the 7th floor you can admire the hills of Montjuïc or Tibidabo. This is where breakfast is served. If it’s not included in your room rate it will cots you around 20 euros.
In the afternoon the breakfast tables are replaced with deckchairs and the scene is set for relaxation! And so that nothing is missing, the bar also serves a range of refreshments and snacks.
Lounge/Cocktail bar
The lounge at the hotel Cram is designed along simplistic principles to provide a calm place where you can relax in a couch or armchair.
Unless you prefer to try one of the 4 audio headset available to help you discover Barcelona from another angle! Recorded sounds will immerse you into the heart of the Mediterranean, the parks of Barcelona, the city, or Barcelona’s nightlife. It’s a nice little detail ! From 8pm the lounge transforms into a cocktail bar.
Rooms
The Cram has five room categories: standard, superior, executive, privilege, and suite. All have heating and air conditioning, and the services are the same in all rooms; the only difference is the size. The executive, privilege and suites all have a private terrace.
