Grey Street: original, designer gift ideas
Looking for fun, original gift ideas? We have just the place for you: Grey Street. This little, well-stocked shop is run by Amy, a friendly Australian expat who has lived in Barcelona for several years.
Grey Street: original gifts
Amy’s shop is welcoming and colourful, with hundreds of articles filling the space from floor to ceiling. The owner carefully selects the pieces she sells, and also creates small fabric bags and badges using fabric from her stash.
Many of the items on sale at Grey Street are completely unique, as they’re made by some of Amy’s friends. You won’t find them anywhere else! This is particularly true of the paintings on display.
Most of the shop’s stock is created by designers from Barcelona, but there are a few exceptions, such as the large travel journals illustrated and produced by Amy’s sister. Frankly, though, they’re so pretty that we had no scruples whatsoever about them not being local!
A fun, childlike atmosphere
Grey Street is packed with all sorts of objects which have one thing in common: a connection to childhood and more carefree times. Amy selects colourful cups, greetings cards, fun magnets, collectable playing cards, stamps and notebooks for writing, creating and playing. Express yourself, and let your inner child come out to play!
The shop also stocks jewellery, painting, “vintage” clothing from the Dominican Republic, retro stickers to personalise your gifts, etc.
Our favourite? The pretty maps of different quarters of Barcelona (less than €15 for a 43×57 cm poster).
