Barceló Raval: a hotel less ordinary with a flamboyant feel
The four-star Barceló Raval Hotel is a designer destination, set in the heart of one of Barcelona’s most vibrant artistic and cultural quarters.
Barceló Raval: interior design
The unusual and striking décor is one of the first things you’ll notice on entering the Barceló Raval; the ceiling in the entrance hall, for example, is hung with white foam tubes of varying lengths. The hotel is a surprising mixture of modern features and astonishing designer touches.
Rooms at the Barceló Raval
The new essentials
Every room at the Barceló Raval is fitted out with the latest technology, and they’re all very light, thanks to a full wall of glass.
Superior rooms
The “standard” rooms, called “superior” rooms, are mostly fitted with showers. If you’d like a bath, make sure you let the staff know when you book.
- One detail which some guests may find unsettling is the lack of wall between the bedroom and bathroom. That said, the toilets are separate.
Deluxe rooms and junior suites
The view from the Deluxe rooms is spectacular, and that’s what sets them apart from the Superior rooms.
The junior suites are the most luxurious rooms at the Barceló Raval. They include a lounge area, a jacuzzi-style bath and a small dressing room.
An impressive panoramic terrace
The panoramic terrace on the top floor of the hotel offers spectacular 360º views of the city, a rare privilege! We recommend heading up at dusk to watch the sun setting over the mountains.
The terrace includes a cocktail bar and a pool to cool off. It’s reserved for clients of the hotel until 6pm, after which it’s open to the public.
Public areas of the Barceló Raval
Entrance hall
The entrance hall is big, but split into smaller, more intimate zones. There’s a long, black lacquered table which acts as an office space, with Macs available for general use.
The bar is open until midnight on Thursdays and until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, when a guest DJ is also present from 10pm onwards.
The restaurant
The restaurant is also located in the entrance hall, and serves creative, modern cuisine. The restaurant terrace is open throughout the summer months, along with the salad bar.
Sunday brunch
The Barceló Raval serves brunch on Sundays from noon until 4pm, offering excellent value for money. For more details, see our article: Barceló Raval: a refined brunch buffet in beautifully designed surroundings.
Sport and wellbeing
There’s a small gym in the hotel basement. The Barceló Raval also offers a relaxation area with a sauna and a massage booth.
