The Gates Diagonal Barcelona design

The decor at The Gates Diagonal Barcelona hotel suggests a marine environment: the ceiling of the large lobby represents the reflection of the sea in sand, the bar stools call to mind beach pebbles, the lights are bubbles in the surf, and the walls are decorated like a ship’s cabin.

The large terrace is on the 10th floor of The Gates Diagonal Barcelona, and it offers an incredible view of the Agbar tower, a work by Jean Nouvel that provides a surprising spectacle at night when it lights up in a thousand colours.

The terrace of The Gates Diagonal Barcelona is also equipped with a small pool and a bar that opens until 2am.

Each year the “Mobilee Party” is organised here to mark the opening of the cult Sónar Festival. Watch the video below for a quick view of the festival!

The terrace is open from May to October. The bar is located in the lobby and is open all year.

Piano restaurant

The Gates Diagonal Barcelona restaurant offers a menu inspired by Basque and Catalan specialties. You can choose from the menu or opt for a set menu of starter, main course, dessert and drink for between 25 and 35 euros.

The restaurant is open from 1pm to 3:30pm and from 8:30pm to 11pm. From 11am to 11pm you can order to take away from a menu of tapas, gourmet sandwiches and pizzas.

The Gates Diagonal Barcelona room

The Gates Diagonal Barcelona has multiple room categories. They all have the same facilities and are all bright. What differs is the size and view: the rooms with a view of the Agbar tower are more expensive than the others.

  • It is worth noting that the walls in the bathroom are made of transparent glass.

If you want a double bed, remember to ask for it when booking as some rooms have twin beds. And The Gates Diagonal Barcelona has a number of smoking rooms, which is quite rare!
