6 Malls and Shopping Centres in Barcelona

Barcelona is a great destination for shopping, as many national and international brands have made their home there. Maremagnum shopping centre: by the sea

This centre is in a rather special location, built on a large jetty and surrounded by the sea. It even has a mirador offering 360º views of the city.

In addition to a wide range of shops, you’ll find cinemas, restaurants and a whole host of leisure facilities. Even better, it’s open almost every day of the year, even on Sundays and public holidays!

Diagonal Mar shopping centre: just 5 min from the beach

Located by the sea, Diagonal Mar offers a delightful blend of sunshine, coastal views, and shopping options, with a whopping 200+ stores to choose from.

Las Arenas Mall: an old bullfighting arena

A shopping centre created inside a former bullfighting arena… well, that’s certainly not something you see every day! The top floor offers panoramic views across Barcelona, and plays host to a range of cafés and restaurants.

La Maquinista shopping centre: off the tourist track

Further from the city centre, La Maquinista is the biggest mall in Catalonia, and one of the biggest in Spain. It’s outside, making shopping particularly pleasant when the sun is shining.

L’Illa shopping centre: near Camp Nou

L’Illa is a particular favourite with the locals. It includes shops selling clothes, cosmetics, homewares and technology. If it’s gift ideas you’re after, we recommend a stop at the biggest branch of Natura in Barcelona.
