Moog: a laid-back atmosphere
Moog isn’t an exclusive club of the type that imposes a dress code. The focus here is on dancing, having fun, and letting everyone else do the same without needing to feel self-conscious! The club is fairly small, creating a warm atmosphere.
- If you’re looking for a more sophisticated venue playing chart hits, we recommend you head for one of the clubs along the seafront, such as Opium Mar, instead.
Moog: different areas
As you enter Moog, the bar is on your left. A beer or a half-bottle of wine will set you back around €4.
- It can get very busy, especially at the weekend – so if crowds aren’t your thing, you might be better off somewhere else.
The main dancefloor: techno and electro
The dancefloor is toward the back of the club. Go down the steps and you’ll find yourself in the pit, where the crowd is! Techno and electro music are the order of the day here. A number of famous DJs have played sets at Moog, including Daniel Avery and local star John Talabot. Keep an eye on the programme – you never know who might show up!
Upstairs: the 80’s room
If electro isn’t really your thing or if you just fancy a change, head upstairs to Moog’s second space. It’s much smaller than the main hall, but there’s still a great atmosphere!
Music-wise, think ’80s hits. If the DJ is feeling festive, he may join you on the dancefloor, or even take up residence on the bar…
Moog: the crowd
Moog attracts a very varied crowd. The clientele is mostly young, but the club has some older fans. It’s popular with tourists and locals alike, from “standard” club-goers to more eccentric types. The variety of people you’ll find at Moog adds a lot to the club’s charm!
Moog: the music
Moog participates in the mas i mas festival, an event which includes a whole host of very varied, top-quality concerts across Barcelona. The club also plays host to theme nights and cutting-edge techno DJ sets during the festival.
- In other words, if electro/techno is your thing, you’re almost certain to love Moog!
