Primavera youth hostel (Spanish for Spring) is located in a large bourgeois apartment with a traditional Catalan design.
Features
Rooms
Two options are available: 4- or 8-bed dormitories, or a double room. Obviously the doubles are more expensive than the dormitories but they are still a good deal compared to hotel prices, and almost all of them have a balcony.
It is worth noting, however, that guests in the double rooms do have to share their bathroom.
Note also that you need to pass through the 6-person dormitory to get to one of the others, so if you are a light sleeper it might be better to sleep in one of the other dormitories.
The Common areas
The kitchen is spacious and pleasant, as is the bathroom. You will find numerous plants in the common areas, which contribute to the hostel’s widespread familial feeling.
The decor achieves a peculiar coherence somewhere between tradition and modernity.
Vestiges of the past are everywhere in this large apartment with sculpted ceilings and mosaic floors, but they exist harmoniously alongside vivid splashes of colour, reinterpreting the Catalonia of the 19th Century.
Little extras at the Primavera youth hostel
It is no accident that the owners of the Primavera chose an apartment to house their youth hostel: they wanted to offer a warm and familial atmosphere to visitors who might be very far from home. The staff take a genuine interest in the guests and will even offer advice on how to make the most of your trip to the Catalan capital.
