Zara in Barcelona: our top 3
Zara, Plaça Catalunya: our favourite
Located on one side of Plaça Catalunya, this branch has everything you might want. It’s new, spacious, light, elegant and well-organised… even people who claim to be allergic to shopping have been known to enjoy visiting!
The building which houses the store is simply superb: look up and admire the magnificent Art Nouveau cupola. Not bad!
The shop extends over three floors, with womenswear on the ground and first floors, and the children and menswear collections on the first and second floors. Each floor has its own block of spacious and well-lit changing rooms.
- The best thing about this store is the space! There are wide alleyways between racks, making it easy and pleasant to get around. Shopping doesn’t have to be a battle!
Where? Plaça de Catalunya, 5 (opposite FNAC) – Métro Plaça Catalunya (L1-L3-L6 and L7)
When? Monday – Saturday, 10am – 9.30pm
Zara, Passeig de Gràcia
is one of Barcelona’s biggest and most prestigious thoroughfares. Masterpieces by Gaudí (Casa Batlló and La Pedrera) rub shoulders with luxury boutiques and major international chain stores – a great location for a Zara store!
The vast ground store is home to the bulk of the womenswear collection and to the children’s department. The basement houses the TRF collection (Zara’s “younger” label) and a few changing rooms – worth a shot if the changing rooms on the main floor are all occupied. Menswear is located upstairs, on the first floor.
- This branch of Zara gets particularly busy, given it’s in a major tourist area. We recommend visiting early(ish) in the morning if you can!
Where?
Passeig de Gràcia, 16 – Metro: Placa Catalunya (L1-L3-L6 and L7) or Passeig de Gràcia (L2 – L3 and L4)

Zara, Portal de l’Àngel
The Avinguda del Portal de l’Àngel is a pedestrian street which runs off Passeig de Gràcia, after Plaça Catalunya. It’s a major shopping destination, packed with clothing and accessory stores.
The Zara on Portal de l’Àngel is narrow, but spread over several floors: womenswear on 0, 1 and 2, menswear on 3, childrenswear in the basement.
- There’s a huge choice of womenswear and there are changing rooms on each floor, which helps to keep the queues down.
- And that’s not all – there’s another Zara store a few doors down! We haven’t been to visit yet – it was undergoing renovations at the time of writing – so we’ll leave you to discover it on your own.
