FC Barcelona anthem

El Cant del Barça has been the official anthem of Barcelona FC since 1974, when it was sung for the first time at Camp Nou to celebrate the club’s seventy-fifth birthday.

  • The lyrics were written by Jaume Picas and Josep Maria Espinas.
  • The music was written by Manuel Valls – no, not the French politician, although the two are fairly closely related!

The Barça anthem is played at the start of every match at Camp Nou, and the words (in Catalan) are shown on the big screen so that the crowd can sing along with the players. Get practicing, and you’ll be able to join in too!

The Barça anthem: Catalan lyrics and English translation

Paroles en catalan Traduction en français

Tot el camp
És un clam
Som la gent blaugrana
Tant se val d’on venim
Si del sud o del nord
Ara estem d’acord
Estem d’acord
Una bandera ens agermana

Blaugrana al vent
Un crit valent
Tenim un nom el sap tothom
BARÇA BARÇA BAAAAARÇA !

Jugadors
Seguidors
Tots units fem força
Són molts anys plens d’afanys
Són molts gols que hem cridat
I s’ha demostrat s’ha demostrat
Que mai ningú no ens podrà tòrcer

Blaugrana al vent
Un crit valent
Tenim un nom el sap tothom
BARÇA BARÇA BAAAAARÇA !

The whole stadium
Is cheering
We are the blue and maroon people
Wherever we may come from
The south or the north
Now we all agree
We all agree
The flag brings us together

Blue and maroon flying in the wind
A heroic cry
We have a name everyone knows it
BARÇA BARÇA BAAAAARÇA !

Players
Supporters
Together we are strong
Years of hard work
Many famous goals
And we have shown we have shown
That no-one can bring us to our knees

Blue and maroon flying in the wind
A heroic cry
We have a name everyone knows it
BARÇA BARÇA BAAAAARÇA !
