Organising a memorable hen party: getting to Barcelona

- Coming to Barcelona by car

Apartment rentals in Barcelona
Since hen parties are generally a group affair, renting an apartment or a house is easily the cheapest and most convenient option.
If you’d prefer to stay at a hotel, the Violeta Boutique has large, pretty rooms on offer at reasonable prices.
Beaches, culture and shopping
Once you’ve unpacked, you’ll be ready to go out and see the city!
Want to take it easy and enjoy the sun? Head for the beach. The beach is a great location for challenges, dares and games of all sorts… brides-to-be, beware!
After all that excitement and/or sunbathing, you’ll probably be ready for a drink, so head for one of our favourite beach bars.
If your hens are culture vultures, there are plenty of attractive options. “Classic” destinations include Sagrada Familia, the Picasso Museum, Parc Güell or La Pedrera. If you fancy something a little different, try a foodie or street art tour, or even the ghost walking tour if you’re not afraid of getting goosebumps… (Sorry. That was…fowl).
Barcelona is also a great city for shopping! Why not head for the Portal de l’Àngel for a spot of retail therapy? This pedestrian street, packed with boutique stores, is an ideal place to while away a morning or afternoon. If you don’t mind going a little further in your hunt for bargains, try La Roca Village for big-brand outlets.
Have breakfast, lunch or an afternoon snack in the Harry Potter world, the hero of your childhood
Do you dream of taking a trip to a magical world for this great occasion? The Pudding Diagonal is waiting for you! This café dedicated to the universe of the most famous wizard offers a perfect setting for a great moment with friends!

Evening: celebrate in style
The festive side of Barcelona is one of the city’s major attractions for hen and stag parties. The nightlife lives up to its reputation and you’re sure to spend a memorable night in the city.
A meal by the beach
Start as you mean to go on by going out for dinner on the Passeig Maritim, by the sea. There are restaurants as far as the eye can see, so you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you’re struggling to choose, Pez Vela and Gallito are a good starting point…
- Remember to book ahead, particularly if there are a lot of you.
- Note that you do pay for the scenery here, and you’ll get better value for money in town. The seafront restaurants are worth it for the atmosphere, though.
Dining in the dark
Want to try something completely different? Dinner in the dark is an innovative concept, where you’ll have to guess what’s on your plate using only four of your senses. Not as easy as it sounds!
Cocktails: let’s get this party started!
Now for the serious part: drinks! If you’ve had dinner along the seafront, then you won’t need to go far for cocktails – most of the restaurants serve them. If you fancy taking it easy, head to CDLC to lounge on the mattresses on the bar’s terrace.
Nightclubs with atmosphere
Next, dancing! If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy the season’s biggest hits, head for Opium, one of Barcelona’s best-known clubs with a very international vibe. It’s actually on the beach, and there are tables inside and out.
If “commercial” music isn’t your thing, try Marula Café for Afro-American hits, or la Fira for a Latino vibe. If you’re into electro, head to Razzmatazz. And finally, if you’re into a bit of everything, take a look at our article on Apolo, which hosts some interesting themed events.

Sunday brunch
There’s nothing quite like brunch to help you recover after a big night out. Just imagine a big table laid with eggs Benedict, toast with toppings and a variety of homemade pastries… To make things easier, we’ve tested several options for you, and made a list of our top 5 brunch spots.
A spa visit: the perfect end to a perfect hen weekend
Trust us: after such a busy and eventful weekend, a spa treatment is the perfect way to unwind! Try Aire de Barcelona for a relaxing and reinvigorating experience. You’ll come out of it ready for anything!
With a programme like this, the bride-to-be should feel like the queen of the world – and be very, very pleased with her “hens” for organising such a fabulous weekend!
Planning a hen party in Barcelona, why not book a party bus to get you to the airport? They’re a great addition to any hen party!
